Nadia Marino was born in Vittoria, a little town in Sicily (Italy). At the age of six she started playing classic piano, but after six years she found out that wasn't the right instrument for her. She started singing at 12, just practicing alone in her room, following her instinct. At 14 she started learning how to play guitar, and this gave her the inspiration to write songs. She writes in english and this always was a sourse of criticism from italian people. She worked on her first album at 16, but without any help she couldn't release it. At 17 she was a local contest called "Kantestate", and she won the possibility to partecipate to Sanremo Academy, for artists without a label contract, but of course everything was monitored from above and so the Academy failed. At 18 she moved to Catania, a bigger city on the east coast of Sicily. Here she studied Political Science at University. During these years she published a poems book named "Estranea" and worked on the second album "No Face" with a rock band, The Sea Soul Band, but even this time she couldn't find the right way to go. The single was transmitted on the national radio station Radio Rai. Here in Catania she played and sang with a lot of rock and acoustic bands, all over the city, performing also alone with the loop station and in songwriters contests. After graduation she moved to Ireland and lived in Dublin for six months, singing alone in the main pubs of the city center, especially at the Quays Bar in Temple Bar and in the Merchant's Arch. When she turned back to Sicily she started working on her third album and a videoclip. Unfortunately Sicily is not the right place to make money, so it took almost three years to complete the job even because she partecipated as competitor at The Voice Of Italy 2014. She moved to New York in 2015 with a touristic visa to know the music territory and to experience the reaction of american audience to her original music. She performed in Tootsies (Nashville), The Bitter End (New York), and other traditional taverns in the Big Apple. On the th June 2016 she published the self/produced album "Dreamscape". Now she lives in Sicily, she is a vocal teacher in a local music academy, she collaborates in several projects and bands, working on a new album and she created with other collegues an association (MAV - Movimento Artisti Vittoriesi) to help the local artists to grow and to bring music culture in the territory.
